I had a collection of pictures to show you of many of the things I will miss come the end of summer: my all time love--the beach (the only place I've found that makes all-things-right-in-the-world), vine ripe tomato sandwiches on white bread with real mayo (it's a Southern thang) , driving with the sunroof open and music ("Call Me, Maybe" to the Beatles) blaring, silly fruity cocktails--this year's fav: pink lemonade and Belvedere, the smell of coconut suntan lotion, crazy pastel toe nail polish (I sported "Lotus" this summer), the smell of charcoal waiting for burgers or shrimp, colorful wide brimmed sun hats, sitting on the porch, and so much, much more.
But then I decided to edit.
The one thing I most will miss the MOST about summer is wearing flip flops.
I am a bare-foot-flip-flop-lovin'-mama. So the single thing I will hate the most at the end of summer is giving up my flip flops.
How about you, my lovelies? What will you miss the most about summer 2012?
Happy Labor Day Weekend, all!
Linda
I'm wearing as many pairs of white pants and shorts with gauzy tops possible this weekend. Good thing it 's hot here. I hate the thought of putting away open toed shoes but know the time is near.
ReplyDeleteHappy Labour Day!!
Ohhh....gauzy tops--another favorite! Enjoy your weekend, Heather!
DeleteWell...I think all know by now, I'm an INTERIOR girl!
ReplyDeleteSo....my favorite season is almost here....FALL! Crisp cool air, no heavy humidity, clear skies, no thunder storms, (which I am overly scared of), and great sleeping temperatures. What can I say?
I love Fall too, Patty. I've spent some time in your neck of the woods in the summer and it was insufferable! (Not a fan of the tornado horns either.)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in college, I wore flip-flops through the winter (as long as there wasn't snow on the ground)! I definitely can't do that anymore, but I share your affection for them. :)
ReplyDeleteI used to try wearing flips when it got colder. Unfortunately, I hate cold feet. (Yes, I have done the ultimate bad fashion statement and wiggled socks between the toes to run to the mailbox or get the paper.)
DeleteI will miss the easy dressing...a little skirt,t-shirt and sandals and your ready to go.
ReplyDeleteYes, Taylor it is almost time to break out all the layers for Fall--more complicated!
DeleteI love flip flops too. I wear them for as long as I can. But living on the west coast, they are soon replaced by rainboots!
ReplyDeleteFlip flops and rain is a dangerous combination. Being on the East coast, I don't even own rain boots - regular boots are enough. Hope summer weather holds on for you at least a few more weeks, Barbara!
DeleteI will wear my flipflops til the rains come in December.. I LOVE them, wear Rainbow leather ones... so we are in complete agreement there!!

Love that you have Rainbow leather flip flops. I have a few pairs in different colors. The longest lasting ones came from the Dollar Store that I got at my son and DIL's wedding reception for dancing.
