Check out this house I consulted on yesterday. It is white on white inside white rooms. Both the husband and wife are engineers. Ohhhhhh,...I love staging for engineers. Typically, they lack the creative gene but are very open when I explain the reasons behind my approach to staging. Their logical/analytical strengths kick in and they truly get the value of staging.
I can't wait to get my hands on this beauty and add some color and pizazz! I was overruled on paint color. The realtor and clients want a light taupe in the common areas. The realtor insists that color is what is showing in luxury homes in our area. The agent is correct. We are about two years behind the on-trend colors. (I was hoping for rich variations of grey and staging with lots of color.)
How fun will it be to load art and accessories into this house?
Fingers crossed!
Happy Friday, y'all,
Linda
Oh Linda, this will be fabulous.....You are going to make that place shine!
ReplyDeleteI agree, your color ideas would be so, so fab, but you have to please the Market.
I sometimes forget that I am obsessed with interior design and read about it all the time. People look at me like I've grown horns when I talk about grey being on-trend! HA!
DeleteYou are so great at this...can't wait to see what you do!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I SO hope I get this job! Accessories are my favorite and it will take truckloads to complete this job!
DeleteI am sure you will do a great job!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Beth! I don't even have the job but started making my design plan.
DeleteWow, cant wait to see what you will do with the place. I'm sure it will look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate you kind words Taylor. I'm eager to get to work on it.
DeleteOh yes, this house is screaming for your touch. I can just see a big bold piece of art in the dining room and that couch filled with bright pillows! Hope you get it so we can all get to see it.
ReplyDeleteYes! I'm seeing the whole thing too, Heather.
DeleteMost people where I live paint every single room in their house a khaki/beige, you know peanut butter brown! YUCK! Especially the high end luxury homes. It is so bizarre to me.
ReplyDeleteI am very familiar with peanut butter brown. I'm not a fan of it either!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe there is no art on the walls.
Definitely needs lots of colour and pattern to take away that 'blank canvas' look.
Good luck and I hope you get your way!!!

Hi Linda
ReplyDeleteThe comment above was from me - it's my old blog name and Blogger won't let me delete it - grrr. So if I have my Gmail open when I comment of other blogs it uses this name.... SORRY!
I'm sure with your talents you will have this house looking like a "lived in" home in no time - I do hope you show us the 'after pics' too.
