FAQ: What is the one thing you regularly put in a staged houses?

The 'thing' I always include in houses I stage is something RED.  I love red for amping up a space.  Red photographs great.  Red is a neutral to me!  Recently I have been pairing red with bright blue--it looks delicious--trust me.

Do you use red in your houses or the homes you design?

    I use a brick red in my home - it's an accent in the area rug, a table painted that colour and various decor items - it's in the living room, dining room and kitchen and it all ties together nicely. I once read on Maria Killam's blog that you should be able to take a throw cushion and it should match every room on that level of the house - that works in all my main floor rooms but the guest bathroom (it's Wythe Blue and white).

    Oooooh, I love Wythe Blue Heather! Actually read would look really pretty with Wythe Blue--shower curtain with a bit of red in the pattern, towels, and a rug with a bit of red would look great. Maria Killam always has great advice.
